Orchha Fort

This grand fort has numerous formidable structures like forts, palaces and temples. Sitting on the banks of the River Betwa, the fort underlines the rule of Bundela Rajputs. Here you can explore some impressive paintings and stone carving which fascinate every art lover. Raja Mahal here is a major attraction flaunting intricate architecture. The beauty of Jahangir Mahal, built in 1605, is also worth capturing. The fort hosts a remarkable light and sound show narrating tales of its past.

Chhatris

Offering jaw dropping views of Kanchana Ghat, the Chhatris (cenotaphs) nestle around the Orchha Fort complex. The best time to see these Chhatris is during the sunset. Every cenotaph here symbolizes a tomb of the rulers of Bundela dynasty.

Ram Raja Temple

The Ram Raja Temple is the holiest temple of the town where Lord Rama is worshipped as King Rama. The temple belongs to the 16th century and stands inside the Orchha Fort complex. Visit here during the celebration of Ram Navami when streams of worshippers flock here to partake in auspicious celebrations.

Betwa River and Kanchana Ghat

River Betwa, flowing right through the town of Orchha, adds scenic value to the region. Travelers flock here to enjoy incredible sunset views apart from partaking in activities like sailing, river rafting and kayaking.  Kanchana Ghat is the most popular ghat of this river dotted with chhatris (cenotaphs).

Dinman Hardaul Palace

The palace stands for love between brothers. The remarkable palace underlines the art of the then skilled artists. The light and sound show conducted at the Orchha Fort narrates complete tale behind this palace.

Food of Orchha

In Orchha you can taste the delectable food items of Madhya Pradesh. Food connoisseurs visiting the town can enjoy bhutte ki kees, the most popular delicacy of the state. Other must try dishes include chakki ki shaak, mawa baati, khoprapak, malpua, etc.
